Lab Grown Diamonds - Big controversy, lets discuss

So this is a  3.53 carat  lab grown  HPHT.  (more info on that later)  F color   VVS2      Ideal cut, Excellent polish and symmetry.  There is no way  anyone can tell this from a diamond mined from the earth,  without  specialized equipment.   So it looks and performs like a natural diamond.  So  why would someone pay  $100,000  for a natural stone like this, if they can get a lab for under $3000.   Back to HPHT (High pressure - high temperature) which is the way earth mined diamonds are formed.  And both have the same chemical properties.   A lot of the push back is from dealers who have a large amount of earth mined inventory. I guess I can't blame them, they don't want losses. But earth mined diamond prices are coming down , as demand increases for lab. Bottom like , people aren't stupid. They work hard for their money. Also,  diamonds should never be considered an investment. Try to sell the diamond you bought  20 years ago.  Most likely  worth less.  Unless you invested in rare colored diamonds, they have appreciated significantly. The other type of lab is CVD  (chemical vapor deposition)  which carbon filled gasses are heated.  I prefer HPHT  which mimics the natural earth process.  For more information on these processes, just google.  #diamonds #labgrown #labgrowndiamonds #hpht #cvd #lab #knox #knoxdiamondsandjewelry
